Electronic Bed Profile Indicator

The probe is continuously positioned at a fixed, but adjustable distance of 0.5 to 2 mm (bed material dependent) over the bed level by a servo-controlled bridge balance circuit. A vertical position transducer, coupled to the servo output-shaft gives an analogue output signal.

2D ultrasonic sand transport meter

The 2-dimensional ultrasonic sand transport meter (2D USTM) has been developed for in-situ measurement of suspended sand transport. The design was made for a sand grain size range of 50 to 500 µm and a concentration range of 50 to 10,000 mg/l, velocity range 0.03 to 3 m/s.

Silt Monitor

This Monitor has been designed for concentration measurements of fine sediments (silt) in surface waters. The measuring principle is based on the extinction of infrared light by the suspended silt (turbidity measurement), and on the fact that turbidity correlates well with silt-concentration. The relation between turbidity and concentration has to be assessed by calibrations for each site and associated type of material

Applications:

Monitoring of concentration of fine sediments in irrigation canals, rivers, estuaries or seas to assess the average regime or to measure temporary effects of floods, storms, etcetera. The Silt Monitor is extensively used to monitor effects of human interferences like dredging works and disposal of dredge spoil. Industrial applications include monitoring of processes in waste water treatment plants
