Signature is a very modern instrument, based on the AD2CP hardware platform that allows more flexibility  than traditional ADCPs.Signature has the ability to carry out multiple sampling operations simultaneously,can measure wave height, period and direction in addition to current profiles,communicates via Ethernet, such that huge amounts of data can be downloaded in no time, and it has a blue LED indicator to tell those working in the field with it that it is on and that it is pinging. The Signature also uses much less power than traditional ADCPs
